Product Description

Welded in Tennessee. Engineered to Outlast the Mission.

The FXT-44 shares the same purpose-built DNA as every CTS trailer. A fully boxed steel frame designed and welded in-house in Knoxville, Tennessee from US-sourced steel. Diamond plate steel floor and fenders you can stand on. Mil-spec primer followed by a marine-grade powder coat rated for UV, salt, and years of permanent outdoor exposure. Heavy-duty all-terrain tires on forged rock crawler wheels for deployments on any surface. Custom colors available to match your agency branding. This remote solar surveillance trailer is engineered for the field, not assembled from catalog parts.

LiFePO4 Lithium. Weeks of Autonomous Operation.

The FXT-44’s 48V DC LiFePO4 battery bank delivers weeks of unattended operation from a single solar charge cycle. With 640W of articulating solar panels feeding lithium cells that charge 4× faster and last 10× longer than AGM lead-acid, the FXT-44 runs indefinitely in most climates without human intervention. An industry-leading app-based remote energy monitoring system comes standard, giving you real-time battery state, solar input, and power consumption from your smartphone. At 2,000–2,500 lbs, the FXT-44 delivers more capability per pound than any trailer in its class.

Fixed Telescopic Mast. 150 lbs of Payload. Zero Manual Labor.

The permanently mounted telescopic mast extends to 18 feet and reaches 20 feet deployed on the trailer. It supports up to 150 lbs — enough for dual PTZ cameras, 5G router, Starlink antenna, lights, and sensors simultaneously. An onboard pneumatic compressor raises the mast at the push of a button. No cranking. No pumping. The keyed mast prevents rotation for stable, fixed-position surveillance.

Zero Exposed Cables. Zero Vulnerabilities.

Every power and data cable on the FXT-44 is routed internally through the mast and directly into the sealed battery/solar enclosure below. There are no external wires running along the mast. No loose cables draped across the trailer platform. No junction boxes bolted to the outside. This matters for three reasons: first, there is nothing for vandals or criminals to cut — a common vulnerability on competing trailers where exposed cables are the easiest way to disable the system. Second, there is nothing for personnel to trip over during deployment or servicing. Third, cable management stays pristine over months and years of outdoor exposure — no UV degradation, no wind chafing, no animal damage to exposed runs. The result is a cleaner, more professional, and significantly more tamper-resistant platform than any trailer with external cabling.

Mast-Mounted 5G. Optional Starlink. See It from Anywhere.

The FXT-44 mounts its 5G LTE router at mast height for maximum signal strength — a critical advantage over trailers that mount routers inside the trailer body where metal enclosures degrade signal. ONVIF-compliant cameras integrate directly into your RTCC, VMS, or browser-based monitoring station. Optional Starlink satellite internet provides coverage where cellular is unavailable. Combined Starlink + 5G gives automatic failover redundancy for mission-critical deployments. Multiple enterprise-grade router brands are available to match your agency’s existing network infrastructure.

Red and Blue LEDs. Visible Law Enforcement Presence.

Standard red/blue LED lights in the trailer enclosure and atop the pole camera create an unmistakable law enforcement presence that deters criminal activity before a camera captures a frame. Remotely controllable: steady, flash, or off. The 8-sided steel camera enclosure is powder-coated to match the trailer and houses dual PTZ cameras with 30× optical zoom and 600′ IR. All LED marker and tail lights standard. The FXT-44 looks like what it is — a serious surveillance platform operated by a serious agency.

Cloud-Native Cameras. No NVR Required. Access from Anywhere.

Every camera on the FXT-44 ships cloud-ready with built-in edge storage and cloud recording — no network video recorder, no camera server, no laptop needed to access your footage. This is a fundamental difference from competing trailers that require a local NVR bolted inside the enclosure and a laptop or desktop to review recordings on-site.

Each camera includes a 256 GB SD card for on-device edge recording that captures footage locally, providing a redundant backup that fills recording gaps if connectivity drops. In parallel, 12 months of cloud storage with 30-day retention is included — your team views and controls cameras in real time from any browser or the mobile app on iOS, Android, or Windows, from anywhere in the world via the mast-mounted 5G connection. No VPN. No port forwarding. No IT department required.

Need more? Upgrade the SD card to 512 GB or 1 TB for extended edge storage. Extend cloud retention to 60 or 90 days. Or, if your agency runs an existing RTCC or VMS platform, the ONVIF-compliant cameras integrate directly — CTS can turn-key the entire video and storage configuration to your requirements, or leave it at factory default for plug-and-play operation. If you don’t want recurring costs after the included 12 months, that’s not a problem — the cameras run on free edge-based video management software by default. We do business the way the customer wants.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why is the FXT-44 the “Operator’s Choice”?

It is the most-selected configuration by law enforcement and public safety because it balances autonomous operation, payload capacity, and connectivity. The fixed 18′ mast supports 150 lbs, the mast-mounted 5G delivers superior signal, remote energy monitoring provides real-time battery intelligence, and 640W articulating solar keeps it running for weeks without intervention.

How long can it operate without sunlight?

Multiple days on a full charge depending on power draw. In most climates, the 640W solar array recharges daily for indefinite operation. The remote monitoring system provides real-time battery data so you know exactly when shore power might be needed. 120V shore power is standard on all models.

What is mast-mounted 5G and why does it matter?

The 5G LTE router is mounted at the top of the mast rather than inside the trailer body. Cellular signal degrades significantly in a metal enclosure at ground level. Mounting the router at 20 feet in open air provides stronger signal, higher bandwidth, and more reliable video streaming. This requires internal power/data cabling through the mast — engineering complexity that most competitors skip.

What is the remote energy monitoring system?

An industry-leading energy management platform that provides real-time visibility into the trailer’s power system via smartphone app. See battery state-of-charge, solar input, power consumption, and charging status from anywhere. Receive alerts for low battery or system faults. Standard on FXT-44 and FXT-46, optional on FST-44.

How does it handle extreme weather?

Mil-spec primer + marine-grade powder coat protect against UV, salt, rain, and snow. The NEMA 4/12/13, UL Listed, IP66 rated steel electronics enclosure — built by a leading US industrial enclosure manufacturer — protects batteries and electronics from water, dust, and temperature extremes. LiFePO4 batteries outperform AGM in extreme heat and cold. All-terrain tires grip on wet, muddy, or graveled surfaces.

Can it support a secondary mast?

Yes. A rear 2×2-inch hitch receiver accommodates a secondary RATT mast for dual-mast capability — two camera positions, or camera + light tower, from a single trailer. No competitor offers this dual-mast option on a solar surveillance trailer.

What do the red and blue lights do?

The integrated LED light bar provides visible law enforcement presence that deters criminal activity. Controllable remotely with steady, flash, or off modes. Agencies consistently report the lighting package is one of the highest-value features for crime deterrence at special events, parking areas, and hotspots.

Is it eligible for grant funding?

Yes. Fully NDAA/TAA compliant, 100% grant eligible. TIPS Contract #230105 for no-bid procurement. Programs: DHS, COPS, FEMA, ARPA, SHSP, UASI, BSIR. No subscription or lease means no recurring costs for grant administrators after purchase. Contact us for grant application assistance.

What VMS does CTS recommend for Axis camera deployments?

For agencies running Axis cameras, our default video management system is Axis Camera Station Edge — a lightweight, edge-based VMS that runs directly on the camera or an onboard appliance. It provides local recording, remote playback, and seamless integration into larger Axis ecosystems without requiring a dedicated server. For agencies with existing VMS platforms, the FXT-44’s ONVIF-compliant cameras integrate directly with no additional software.

What is ONVIF and why does it matter?

ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is an open industry standard that ensures IP cameras, recorders, and software from different manufacturers work together. Every camera on the FXT-44 is ONVIF-compliant, meaning it integrates into any standards-based VMS or RTCC platform — Fusus, Genetec, Milestone, Motorola CommandCentral, and others — without proprietary software, licensing fees, or vendor lock-in. This is a critical distinction from competitors who use closed ecosystems that force you onto their platform and charge recurring subscription fees to access your own camera feeds.

Do the cameras require an NVR or local server?

No. Every camera ships with a 256 GB SD card for local edge recording plus 12 months of cloud storage with 30-day retention — included at no extra cost. View and control cameras from any browser or the mobile app (iOS, Android, Windows) anywhere in the world. No NVR, no camera server, no laptop required on-site. The SD card provides recording redundancy — if connectivity drops, edge storage fills the gap automatically via the ONVIF standard. Upgrade options: 512 GB or 1 TB SD cards, extended cloud retention (60 or 90 days). If your agency already operates an RTCC or VMS platform, the cameras integrate directly. CTS can also turn-key the complete video and storage configuration or leave cameras at factory default — we do business the way you want.
