Product Description

The Most Capable Solar Surveillance Trailer We Build.

The FXT-46 takes every advantage in the CTS lineup and scales it. The 4×6-foot extended platform provides two additional feet of deck space for an optional generator, expanded battery capacity, or mission equipment that smaller trailers cannot accommodate. Same fully boxed steel frame welded in-house in Knoxville, Tennessee from US-sourced steel. Same mil-spec primer and marine-grade powder coat. Same diamond plate steel floor and fenders, heavy-duty all-terrain tires, forged rock crawler wheels, and LiFePO4 lithium battery bank. But with 1,000 watts of solar, six cameras, and the highest payload capacity in the CTS remote surveillance trailer lineup.

1,000 Watts of Solar. Generator-Ready. Indefinite Operation.

The FXT-46’s 1,000W solar array delivers maximum energy generation from two high-efficiency monocrystalline panel types selected for peak output and long-term durability. Articulating panel mounts adjust angle for optimal absorption in any season — unlike fixed-angle panels on competing trailers that sacrifice up to 30% of potential energy at northern or southern deployments. The 48V DC LiFePO4 battery bank stores days of autonomous power. An optional 3,000-watt inverter generator provides unlimited runtime for extended cloud cover, heavy power draw, or high-demand configurations. The generator operates at just 50 dB — quieter than a conversation — and runs up to 20 hours on a single 3.4-gallon tank. It sits inside a lockable, ventilated, diamond plate aluminum enclosure that is powder-coated to match the trailer. The extended deck accommodates the generator enclosure without compromising access to batteries, electronics, or other mission equipment.

Six Cameras. 360-Degree Coverage. No Blind Spots.

The FXT-46 ships with six cameras in its standard configuration: two PTZ cameras with 30× optical zoom and 600-foot IR illumination for targeted long-range surveillance, plus two dual-sensor 180° cameras that together provide continuous 360-degree wide-area awareness. That is six independent sensors on a single mast — complete situational awareness with zero blind spots. The 8-sided steel camera enclosure is powder-coated to match the trailer. All cameras are ONVIF-compliant IP cameras from leading enterprise brands that integrate directly into any VMS or RTCC platform on day one — including Fusus, Genetec, Milestone, and Motorola CommandCentral. The camera configuration is fully customizable: options include bi-spectral PTZ cameras for simultaneous optical and thermal imaging, multi-sensor quad cameras for even wider coverage, talk-down speakers for remote verbal deterrence, and other mission-specific sensors. We match camera hardware to your agency’s existing ecosystem and deployment requirements.

Extended Deck. Room for the Generator. Room for the Mission.

The 4×6′ platform provides 50% more deck space than standard 4×4 trailers. Purpose-designed for an optional generator, expanded battery banks, additional electronics, or ruggedized mission cases. Diamond plate steel floor supports the weight and abuse. Drill-compatible outriggers, 8-inch wheel tongue jack, and folding tongue (122″ stored) make one-person deployment straightforward. Trailer brakes, breakaway box, 7-way connector, and rear 2×2″ hitch receiver for a secondary RATT mast are all standard.

Zero Exposed Cables. Zero Vulnerabilities.

Every power and data cable on the FXT-46 is routed internally through the mast and directly into the sealed battery/solar enclosure below. There are no external wires running along the mast. No loose cables draped across the trailer platform. No junction boxes bolted to the outside. This matters for three reasons: first, there is nothing for vandals or criminals to cut — a common vulnerability on competing trailers where exposed cables are the easiest way to disable the system. Second, there is nothing for personnel to trip over during deployment or servicing. Third, cable management stays pristine over months and years of outdoor exposure — no UV degradation, no wind chafing, no animal damage to exposed runs. The result is a cleaner, more professional, and significantly more tamper-resistant platform than any trailer with external cabling.

Mast-Mounted 5G + Optional Starlink. Eyes Anywhere on Earth.

5G LTE router at mast height for maximum cellular signal — not buried inside a metal trailer body at ground level where signal degrades. Optional Starlink satellite internet for deployments beyond cellular reach: border regions, disaster zones, rural areas, and remote infrastructure. Combined Starlink + 5G provides automatic failover for mission-critical connectivity. An industry-leading app-based remote energy monitoring system comes standard, providing real-time battery, solar, and power consumption data from any smartphone. Red/blue LED lights in the enclosure and atop the pole camera create visible law enforcement presence. Multiple enterprise-grade router brands are available to match your network infrastructure.

Cloud-Native Cameras. No NVR Required. Access from Anywhere.

Every camera on the FXT-46 ships cloud-ready with built-in edge storage and cloud recording — no network video recorder, no camera server, no laptop needed to access your footage. This is a fundamental difference from competing trailers that require a local NVR bolted inside the enclosure and a laptop or desktop to review recordings on-site.

Each camera includes a 256 GB SD card for on-device edge recording that captures footage locally, providing a redundant backup that fills recording gaps if connectivity drops. In parallel, 12 months of cloud storage with 30-day retention is included — your team views and controls cameras in real time from any browser or the mobile app on iOS, Android, or Windows, from anywhere in the world via the mast-mounted 5G connection. No VPN. No port forwarding. No IT department required.

Need more? Upgrade the SD card to 512 GB or 1 TB for extended edge storage. Extend cloud retention to 60 or 90 days. Or, if your agency runs an existing RTCC or VMS platform, the ONVIF-compliant cameras integrate directly — CTS can turn-key the entire video and storage configuration to your requirements, or leave it at factory default for plug-and-play operation. If you don’t want recurring costs after the included 12 months, that’s not a problem — the cameras run on free edge-based video management software by default. We do business the way the customer wants.

Frequently Asked Questions

What makes the FXT-46 the flagship?

It is the most capable unit CTS builds: 1,000W solar, six cameras (two PTZ plus two dual-sensor 180° cameras), 18′ telescopic mast with 150 lb payload, mast-mounted 5G, optional Starlink, optional generator, remote energy monitoring, and 4×6′ extended platform — all on a LiFePO4-powered, purpose-built steel frame with marine-grade finish and all-terrain rolling stock.

What does the optional generator provide?

Unlimited runtime regardless of weather or solar conditions. The FXT-46 accommodates a 3,000-watt inverter generator that produces clean, stable power safe for sensitive surveillance electronics and communications equipment. The generator runs at just 50 dB at quarter load — quieter than a normal conversation — so it does not compromise the low-profile nature of the deployment. With a 3.4-gallon fuel tank, it runs up to 20 hours at quarter load on a single fill. Electric start is standard with manual recoil backup. An integrated carbon monoxide monitoring system automatically shuts down the generator if CO levels become unsafe. The generator charges the LiFePO4 battery bank through the trailer’s energy management system, and the remote monitoring platform tracks generator status, fuel consumption, and battery charging state from your smartphone.

How is the generator secured on the trailer?

The generator sits inside a purpose-built lockable aluminum enclosure on the FXT-46’s extended deck. The enclosure is diamond plate construction with a locking latch to prevent theft — the generator cannot be removed without a key. Removable ventilation panels allow the generator to run safely while the enclosure remains locked, so it can operate unattended without risk of tampering. The enclosure is powder-coated to match the trailer’s finish for a uniform, professional appearance. This is not a generator strapped to a platform with ratchet straps — it is a fully integrated, secured, color-matched component of the trailer system.

Can it support Starlink + 5G simultaneously?

Yes. The 150 lb mast payload accommodates Starlink hardware, multi-carrier routers, and all six cameras simultaneously. Combined Starlink + 5G provides automatic failover — if cellular drops, Starlink takes over and vice versa. Critical for border, disaster, and remote deployments where a single connectivity method is a single point of failure.

What is the deployed mast height?

18′ mast, 20′ deployed height on the trailer. Fully pneumatic elevation via onboard compressor — push a button. Keyed mast prevents rotation for fixed-position surveillance. Internal power/data cables eliminate exposed exterior cabling that can be damaged or vandalized.

How do the six cameras work together?

Two PTZ cameras (30× zoom, 600′ IR) handle targeted long-range surveillance — zoom in on a face, a license plate, or an incident at distance. Two dual-sensor 180° cameras maintain continuous 360° wide-area awareness simultaneously, so nothing is missed while the PTZs are focused. All six cameras stream independently via ONVIF to your VMS/RTCC. This eliminates the “look here, miss there” problem of single-PTZ systems. The configuration is also customizable — agencies can substitute bi-spectral PTZ cameras for combined optical and thermal imaging, add multi-sensor quad cameras, or integrate talk-down speakers for remote verbal deterrence.

What is the electronics enclosure rated for?

NEMA 4/12/13, UL Listed, IP66 — manufactured by a leading US industrial enclosure company. Full protection against water, dust, corrosion, and environmental contamination. Houses batteries, energy monitoring equipment, and power management electronics. Color-matched to the trailer powder coat for a unified professional appearance. Custom colors available.

Can a standard patrol vehicle tow it?

Yes. Despite the larger 4×6′ platform, LiFePO4 lithium batteries weigh roughly half of AGM, keeping the FXT-46 at 2,000–2,500 lbs actual weight (3,500 lb GVWR). Any SUV or pickup with a 2-inch hitch tows it. No CDL required. Folding tongue reduces stored length to 122 inches.

Is it eligible for grant funding?

Yes. Fully NDAA/TAA compliant, 100% grant eligible. TIPS Contract #230105 for no-bid procurement. Programs: DHS, COPS, FEMA, ARPA, SHSP, UASI, BSIR. No subscription or lease means no recurring costs for grant administrators after purchase. Contact us for grant application assistance.

What VMS does CTS recommend for Axis camera deployments?

For agencies running Axis cameras, our default video management system is Axis Camera Station Edge — a lightweight, edge-based VMS that runs directly on the camera or an onboard appliance. It provides local recording, remote playback, and seamless integration into larger Axis ecosystems without requiring a dedicated server. For agencies with existing VMS platforms, the FXT-46’s ONVIF-compliant cameras integrate directly with no additional software.

What is ONVIF and why does it matter?

ONVIF (Open Network Video Interface Forum) is an open industry standard that ensures IP cameras, recorders, and software from different manufacturers work together. Every camera on the FXT-46 is ONVIF-compliant, meaning it integrates into any standards-based VMS or RTCC platform — Fusus, Genetec, Milestone, Motorola CommandCentral, and others — without proprietary software, licensing fees, or vendor lock-in. This is a critical distinction from competitors who use closed ecosystems that force you onto their platform and charge recurring subscription fees to access your own camera feeds.

How is the FXT-46 different from the FXT-44?

Larger 4×6′ platform (50% more deck), 1,000W solar (vs 640W), six cameras including two dual-sensor 180° cameras (vs two PTZ on the FXT-44), and optional generator. Both share the same 18′ mast, 150 lb payload, mast-mounted 5G, remote energy monitoring, and build quality. Choose FXT-44 for max capability on a compact footprint. Choose FXT-46 for additional space, solar, camera coverage, or generator option. Compare all models on our trailer comparison page.

Do the cameras require an NVR or local server?

No. Every camera ships with a 256 GB SD card for local edge recording plus 12 months of cloud storage with 30-day retention — included at no extra cost. View and control cameras from any browser or the mobile app (iOS, Android, Windows) anywhere in the world. No NVR, no camera server, no laptop required on-site. The SD card provides recording redundancy — if connectivity drops, edge storage fills the gap automatically via the ONVIF standard. Upgrade options: 512 GB or 1 TB SD cards, extended cloud retention (60 or 90 days). If your agency already operates an RTCC or VMS platform, the cameras integrate directly. CTS can also turn-key the complete video and storage configuration or leave cameras at factory default — we do business the way you want.
